Best Renal/CKD/CRF Food so far!
I have 14 year old neutered female that has been on this food for nearly 3 years now. After testing a few other brands, this came up tops on palatability for mine which is critical for cats with this condition. I usually have to shoo off the other cat from trying to steal it!
Her frequent blood and urine tests have been practically unchanging over the years and now have become occasional as our vet isn't really concerned and is happy with how stable her condition has remained. Whilst I think her condition was caught quite early, I have no doubt that this food has helped contribute to the maintenance of her health. Of course this is simply an anecdote and this food is no guarantee of anything but as any vet will recommend, a prescription diet is the best thing you can do for this incurable condition and if you are looking for a renal diet food, I would recommend Hill's as a safe start. Whilst not the cheapest brand, Bitiba consistently offers one of if not the most competitive prices on the internet.
I know my cat drinks enough water but I do also use and would recommend the Hill's wet food too, just to help ensure she gets plenty of fluid. Like nearly all wet foods, these are quite expensive in comparison so she gets about 1 pouch a day plus whatever kibble she wants but again Bitiba has great prices for those too.
