Product description

From the age of 6 months, ensure your cat's diet supports stress-relief. It is a complete, balanced kibble designed specifically to help minimise the visible and internal side effects of stress.
Vet Food Disclaimer

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet - Calm CC 36 is a complete balanced kibble designed to help your easily-stressed cat live a more relaxing and peaceful life. It is recommended that this diet works alongside a course of behavioural therapy to help reduce anxiety and stress for your cat. The digestion, skin and coat can all react negatively to stressful situations, making your cat feel poorly on the inside as well as looking unwell on the outside. This dry food can be particularly useful during turbulent times such as a house move, ideal as a temporary diet to reduce side effects. The hydrolysed milk protein, alpha-S1 casein, found in this recipe works with L-tryptophan to regulate your cat's system, containing a patented peptide known to have positive effects on the body under stress. L-tryptophan is the step before serotonin, which is known to help keep your cat's appetite regular, their anxiety low and sleeping habits solid.

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet - Calm CC 36 is rich in protein, which is easy to digest and offers valuable energy. It also helps to keep the intestines healthy, combining beetroot pulp and valuable fish oil to help make life easier for a stressed digestive system. An amino acid and vitamin formula helps keep the skin strong against attacks from the outside, meaning that your cat is supported both inside and out. Fermentable and non-fermentable fibre goes into this food, helping make it easier to move swallowed hairs through the system and minimise the build up of pesky hairballs.

Recommended for (indications):

  • To help cats manage stressful situations
  • Helps fight stress-related digestive, fur and skin manifestations
  • Support for behavioural therapy to treat anxiety disorder
Not recommended for (contraindications):
  • Chronic renal insufficiency and metabolic acidosis
  • Growth prior to castration/sterilisation
  • Kittens or pregnant/lactating cats
  • Hypertension
  • Heart failure

Key benefits:

  • A Strong Skin Barrier: The synergistic ingredient complex of vitamins and amino acids strengthens the natural skin barrier by increasing the production of ceramides (skin lipids) for protection against external influences, the entry of allergens and drying of the skin.
  • Hairball regulator: A balanced combination of fermentable (beetroot pulp) and non-fermentable (corn fibre) fibres can aid in the passage of hairballs. Psyllium can be used as indigestible fibre to facilitate intestinal transit and the elimination of hairballs in stools.
  • Digestive Tolerance: The proteins are very easy for the small intestine to digest so there is less undigested protein leftover. A combination of beetroot pulp and fish oils supports a balanced intestinal flora.
  • Emotional Balance: Alpha-S1 casein trypsic hydrolysate contains a patented peptide with stress regulating qualities (alpha-casozepine). L-tryptophan is a serotonin precursor, a neurotransmitter with an essential role in the regulation of anxiety, sleep and appetite.

Further information:

Royal Canin Veterinary Diet - Calm is an innovative, comprehensive approach to dietary stress management based on two active ingredients: alpha-casozepine and L-tryptophan (Beata et al, 2007). CALM is lactose-free.

Further information:

You should feed your pet Royal Canin Calm for 2 to 3 months, although life-long feeding is possible. If you predict that a period of stress is approaching, begin feeding your pet Calm 10 to 14 days prior.
