How much litter should go in a litter tray?

Less litter is usually sufficient here, but it should be 5cm in height, or even better 10cm. You need to fill it even higher with litter for cats that like to bury their faeces particularly deep. With less than 5cm of litter, toilet use is no longer hygienic enough and more effort is required for cleaning, since it is easier for urine to sink through to the floor.
