We bought this toy to keep our cat on a diet entertained. It does have a lot of nice little slots and such that our cat found tricky to get the kibble out of, my only complaint is that for our cat, the device is a bit small and he ended up just flipping it over and tipping out the food rather than actually figuring out how to open the slots. For a more timid cat, I think this would be a nice toy.
